Earthquake and Tsunami in Japan "Hits Home" in Eastern NC!

USS Germantown (LSD 42) 1999-2002 Sasebo, Japan
I try not to get personal on this blog, but felt I needed to share my thoughts...at the least, I would feel better reminding people that we have thousands of service members in Japan.

Today’s 8.9 earthquake in Japan that triggered a catastrophic Tsunami in Japan and surrounding countries personally affected me and many local Eastern NC residents who have loved ones serving our country or friends living in Japan.

While living on a forward deployed US Navy Ship stationed in Sasebo, Japan for three years, I fell in love with the people of this docile country.
Life Before the Earthquake and Tsunami
I just wanted to let my shipmates, marines, and friends that are living in Japan know that I’m thinking of them and hope you are safe and sound.

If your loved ones are stationed and/or living in Japan, my heart goes out to you!

For those who want to help support our US military and the people affected by this tragedy, please visit: http://www.wral.com/weather/story/9258862 to learn how you can support relief efforts.

Please feel free to comment below or send me an email with your thoughts.
