Escape the Doldrums of Everyday Life! Attend the Professional Development Conference!

Special thanks to Inspirational Speaker, Denise Ryan and Thea Kincaid for helping produce this fun video!

The following is a previous press release sent to NBN from the Chamber of Commerce: In partnership with the New Bern Riverfront Convention and Visitors Center, the New Bern Area Chamber of Commerce announces the New Bern Professional Development Conference (formerly Administrative Professionals’ Day) will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center. This dynamic new conference provides business and personal development for all professional levels.

The conference program, “Motivation by Chocolate,” features nationally-renowned speaker Denise Ryan with Firestar Speaking. According to Ms. Ryan, to be a better leader and communicator, one should learn from the best. The Kings of Chocolate, Milton Hersey, Forrest Mars, and Henri Nestle, built empires with dramatically different styles, and they didn’t do it alone. Ms. Ryan teaches leadership lessons and communication styles learned from these entrepreneurs to help you better understand your own style.

Dominic Brown, Weekend Meteorologist with WCTI News Channel 12 will be the Master of Ceremonies and Tharesa Lee, Neuse River Development Authority will provide the invocation. There will be a special performance by Willy Wonka and members of his Chocolate Factory courtesy of the New Bern Civic Theatre.

An exhibit area featuring sponsor booths will be open from 10:00 to 11:00 am and attendees will be eligible to register for door prizes. Ms. Ryan will speak from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. Lunch will be served from 12:30 to 2:00 pm at which time door prizes will be awarded. Registration is $40 for members of the New Bern Area Chamber of Commerce and $60 for nonmembers of the Chamber. Entrance to the exhibit area, the seminar, and lunch are included in the registration fee.

For more information on registration and sponsorship, contact Teresa Suhrie at tsuhrie@newbernchamber.com or 252-637-3111.
