Find out why stand up paddleboarding is one of the fastest growing water sport in the World!
Thea Kincaid and I had a great time with Kate and Charley Lewis, Owners of Stand Up Outfitters (SUP), in New Bern!
Their daughters, Betsy and Georgie show us why this sport is fun for children and adults alike!
Watch Kate teach Thea how to paddleboard in less than two minutes!

Take a SUP class on Monday at 7pm or Wednesdays and Saturdays at 9am. You can also request a private SUP lesson on your schedule.
Some of their outdoor provisions include XCEL UV protection clothing, Kaenon polarized sunglasses, Vertra sunscreen, Pura Vida bracelets that help provide jobs to local artisans in Costa Rica, Freewaters flip flops that support the clean drinking water initiative, and much more!
You can even take a mini-vacation to one of Eastern North Carolina’s islands by tying down supplies, coolers, camping gear, etc. and pull your gear on a small watercraft or float.
Paddleboarding isn’t about surfing! That’s a misconception. It is a sport for people of all ages to enjoy.
Stop by and see their “One of a Kind SUP Shop” at 244 Craven St., New Bern, NC. They are open Monday - Saturday from 10am - 5pm. Give them a call at 252-514-0404, or visit their website or Facebook page.
For more information, visit a previous article we wrote about Charley and Kate’s new shop here: http://newbernnow.blogspot.com/2011/07/new-water-sport-shop-comes-to-town.html.
Thank you Charley, Kate, Betsy, and Georgie for a fun-filled morning! What a terrific way to start the day!
