Seniors Choosing to Live at Home - Chamber Ribbon Cutting Ceremony!
It was a full house for Seniors Choosing to Live at Home Chamber Ribbon Cutting Ceremony this afternoon! Today's Ribbon Cutting was special as Kevin Roberts, President of the New Bern Area Chamber and Beth Bucksot, Vice President of the Pamlico County Chamber of Commerce united to celebrate the Open House.
Valerie and Rod Phillips established Seniors Choosing to Live at Home in 2006. After working in the health and home care industry for many years, they decided to create a business that caters to senior citizens who live at home.
Some may compare Seniors Choosing to Live at Home services to those provided by adult children who take care of their parents. Therefore, Valerie and Rod consider themselves and their employees as “surrogate children” in that respect.
They offer in home care services so seniors can live independently vs. moving into an independent living, assisted living, or nursing home facility.
Potential employees for Seniors Choosing to Live at Home are personally interviewed by Valerie. They are screened with a security background check, interview, and receive extensive training prior to becoming part of the team.
A full time nurse is available to assist with prescription routines, counseling, and numerous other nursing tasks.
Licensed by the state of North Carolina, safety is one of their top priorities and they will outfit homes to ensure a safe, comfortable, and secure living environment.
Benefits to contracting with Seniors Choosing to Live at Home are:
- Clients can opt to receive around the clock personal care to include: cooking, personal hygiene, house cleaning, shopping, transportation, home maintenance, managing bills, dog walking, etc.
- Clients and family members receive counseling if the situation warrants choosing a proper facility for a client if they can no longer live at home.
- They offer quality care at affordable prices. They only require one hour minimums vs. higher minimums required by some home healthcare agencies.
