Eastern Carolina Philanthropy Society Focuses on the Five Points Community

Who we are, and what we stand for…

Eastern Carolina Philanthropy Society is a non-profit organization whose primary objective is reforming the mentality of the Five Points Community. The term “philanthropy”, is often only associated with the term charity. The term “charity” refers to short-term relief as by charitable aid or donations. While “philanthropy”, is normally applied to attempts at investing and reforming the underlying causes. Our focus is not just on immediate need, but the long term plan to prevent future need by investing in the people of the communities that need us the most.

Our focus will be on those of the Five Points Communities, children and adults, age’s 5-45 male and female. Our industry falls in the lines of education, community service, business development, personal and professional growth, and entertainment. In the beginning we will focus solely on gaining the trust of the community, by becoming active, and accessible with the residence through the launching of The Point Community Newsletter, we are certain to make a name for our organization, and partnership with community. By the end of 2011, we will begin to plan for the spring, and summer events that will enable us to assist in the funding of several projects hosted by various non-profit organizations that concentrate on the revitalization of the Five Points area. We hope that you will join us in our efforts to unify and restore this community and the people.
