The New Bern-Craven County Public Library will host the traveling photography exhibit “Celebrate North Carolina: Faces and Places” from August 14th through September 1st. “Celebrate North Carolina” is an initiative of the Office of First Gentleman Bob Eaves and arranged in cooperation with the N.C. Department of Cultural Resources.
The images transport the viewer from waterfront to Main Street to farm field sharing in joyous public celebrations and moments of quiet magic and mystery. The photographers succeed in capturing a slice of life through people – young and old – at work or play.
The New Bern Public Library is one of 30 sites statewide to present the collection of 30 black and white photographs contributed by 2009 N.C. State Fair winners, the State Archives, and members of the North Carolina Press Photographers Association.
The exhibit will be on display in the library’s main reading room, at 400 Johnson Street, during normal hours of operation. Contact the library staff at 638-7800 for more information.
